The video was interesting, but at times a little hard to follow. I wasn't sure what the story was about. I liked the use of going between the color shots and the black and white, I think that gave a good element to the video.
The music video fit your pitch well! The color palette was on point and you managed to avoid our hellacious blizzards! Great job!
One suggestion - since your video is so calm and relaxing, a tripod would have really drove your music video home. The shaky camera wasn't necessarily helping the narrative at all so a steady hand would have strengthened the piece.
I really liked all the different nature and landscape shots. It was a very beautiful and tranquil. I really could tell the main character was sad and lonely, but because of the good use of editing, filters, etc. Overall, really good job.
Amazing cinematography! the video has a sombre vibe and it fits with the song. The use of transitions was a little over the top and it made the narrative feel disjointed at parts.
You had many beautiful shots and interesting location. It was a really lonely vibe for sure. There is one scene where she is on a loft? in black and white - it's a gorgeous shot. Fits well in the story. There were lots of strengths. Good job :)
The video was fantastic. I think the feeling of loneliness really came through. Also, the use of black and white really helped pull everything together. Some of the camera shots could have been a little more steady, but overall great job.
I liked the way rule of thirds was utilized on that one gate shot towards the middle/beginning of the video, to me that shot said a lot to the emotion of the video itself. One thing I do think could have been improved upon was maybe utilizing a warp stabilizer or something to that effect (or a tripod/monopod) that would've brought in more stability to some of the shaky shots.
Loved your scenery and your shot choice, the slow camera movements added to the emotional aspects of you video a lot. Some of the transitions worked really, but others were to quick at took away from the emotional shots that you were getting.
This video was really somber and mellow. Why is the girl sad? What is troubling her? There is a sense of loneliness in this video that is very evident but why? What is the drive of her unhappiness? Also, your editing in this video is phenomenal! I really like the use of color as well as black and white to create this sort of contrast. I also think the song relates to the video in a nice way. Good job!
The location is really beautiful. I think that the variety of color effects were nice as well, like going from black and white to sepia. I think that it added to the tone of the video along with that it was shot on a semi-gloomy day. Nice, variety of shots too. Although I noticed some shots were repeated and it didn't really fit. I wasn't sure of the storyline either. But I really think the video created the emotion intended, so very nicely done.
The use of the dull, brown, boring landscape shots was used very effectively and added to the overall believability of the video. In general, the tedious, boring chores the character was performing throughout really helped set the tone, and I mean that in a good way.
I really liked the variation of your shots. They fit really well with the music. One thing I did notice is that there were a lot of different transition effects which made it feel unprofessional. If the shots were just straight cuts or subtle fades that would've helped the mood a lot. All in all, the video was executed really well. Just a couple editing things to keep in mind for next time.
I liked the variety of your shots and I think you stuck to you pitch intent well!
ReplyDeleteVery cool shots especially in the barn. I also like the black and white that was added to some parts. Good Job!
